Challenges in healthcare:
The current healthcare landscape is under pressure due to the ever-increasing healthcare costs and the growing demand for follow-up care due to aging and staff shortages. To address these challenges, innovations in medical diagnostics are necessary, as this is a crucial link in the healthcare chain. Improved and effective diagnostics can lead to more efficient follow-up care pathways and lower healthcare costs.
Barriers for entrepreneurs:
The size of the diagnostics market is significant, with an estimated turnover of €3.3 billion and approximately 144 million healthcare activities/performance per year. At the same time, there are barriers to public-private entrepreneurship in the field of diagnostic innovations, and there is still insufficient use of AI-driven data analysis of diagnostic results.
Focus:
The focus of Trinitas DX is on developing and clinically validating improved diagnostics, particularly in the areas of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) and point-of-care Imaging (IMG). Where possible, it will also explore integrated diagnostics by linking different methods and using artificial intelligence. The goal is to achieve faster and, especially, more effective exclusion and/or diagnosis of diseases, thereby reducing the need for hospital referrals and additional diagnostics in the future.
