Health~Holland PPS-programme Trinitas DX

The Health~Holland Trinitas DX PPP programme focuses on developing innovative diagnostic solutions to address specific healthcare needs within the Dutch healthcare system. By enabling better and smarter diagnostics, the programme aims to improve the quality of care while reducing healthcare costs.

Trinitas DX combines in vitro diagnostics (IVD), medical imaging (IMG) and artificial intelligence (AI). By developing and applying these technologies in an integrated way, the programme aims to deliver innovative, efficient and future-proof diagnostic solutions.

More information about the programme is available on the Health~Holland website:: Trinitas DX, the future of diagnostics | Health~Holland

Programme Duration

  • Programme period: 2025–2030
  • Project duration: Each selected project runs for 36 months (3 years).

The programme brings together universities, university medical centres, research institutions, SMEs and major industry partners. This public-private partnership (PPP) fosters close collaboration between research, technology development and implementation in clinical practice.

Selected projects

Within Trinitas DX, projects have been selected across five healthcare domains.

Programme Steering Group

The Trinitas DX programme is guided by a multidisciplinary steering group comprising representatives from academic medical centres and research institutions. The steering group consists of:

  • Amsterdam UMC: Charlotte Teunissen, Frederique Bambach and Robert de Jonge
  • UMC Utrecht: Gerard Pasterkamp
  • Radboudumc: Chris de Korte
  • Leiden University: Thomas Hankemeier
  • Sanquin: Gerald de Haan

The steering group oversees the programme’s strategic direction, fosters collaboration between projects and promotes knowledge sharing and implementation.

Events

On 27 February 2026, the ten selected Trinitas DX projects were presented at the Health~Holland PPP event, where progress and collaboration across the programme were key topics. In the afternoon, participants took part in a panel discussion on implementation in clinical practice and the future opportunities offered by integrated diagnostics. The event brought together a broad range of stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, researchers, companies and investors, with the shared goal of accelerating the adoption of diagnostic innovations in healthcare.
